Catch a Wave

Whew, I think I'm squeaking in on time for two challenges (fingers crossed!)  The first, and this one totally inspired the photo I chose, is one from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge:  scrap something from your bucket list.  Since my first surfing attempt was an "epic fail" (quoting the youngsters here - do your kids say that?), I've always wanted to try again.  One day, I'll take lessons and stand up on that board, or die trying - and that is a definite possibility, as the cute Aussie lifeguard tried to tell me back in 1995!

Here's a close up of the title:

I used a bunch of cut files from Silhouette, including the title, to complete this page, and I had a lot of fun messing around with sizes and scraps!

The other challenge I had in mind when creating this layout was a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy

Love the angles and layers on this sketch!

Well, that's it for now.  Oh wait, I wanted to show you some more wildlife pics I took from our deck the other night:

I had no idea that Vanderhoof is some sort of mecca for these birds!  They fly over the house probably a hundred times a day, from the field across the road down to the river, and I think they're so beautiful!  Loud, too, honking from dawn to dusk!  Jason says they're snow geese, other people say they're swans - if you know offhand, please enlighten me.

Happy Easter to all!

You make me happy

Finally finished another layout - I think this makes 2 for March!

This photo was taken a year and a half ago.  It's of my darling Ailis climbing at the park one gray day in 100 Mile House.  Looking at this photo makes me realize how much she's changed - she has short hair now, and glasses.  And I have no idea where that gray sweatshirt went!  It was such a great sweatshirt - must have disappeared in the move.

I used this sketch from Page Maps:

I finally got a new blade for my Cameo, which is how I cut the balloons and title:
I was really stuck for a title, but when I saw this same saying on the Silhouette site, I thought it would be perfect.  I cut all the pieces from cream cardstock, then coloured them with Copics to match the Basic Grey patterned paper.  Simple page, figured the title said it all.

Guess what we saw on the driveway the other day?

Mama moose and baby!  The dogs were going berserk!  And yeah, we still have a ton of snow, although it's been melting into a soupy mess.  Time to find me some gum boots!

Baby Yoga

Seems like I've been out of the blogging loop for quite some time!  Finally, I have a page to post, and I really like it (I think...)
You know how when you take a picture of your work, and maybe you see it from a different angle, and you think, "Maybe I should have done something differently here?"  Ah well, it is what it is, and I think I'll be making more of these quickie pages in the future, just because of time constraints.

Thankfully, my page can be used for our challenge at Seriously Creative Challenges this month:
That's right, anything goes, so I'm expecting many entries from all my lovely blogger friends!

Here's a close-up of the journaling:

If I could live my dreams of Olympic stardom vicariously through one of my kids, I think Brenna's the one!  Of course, it might help if we had a gymnastics club in town, but that's just a minor detail!

A couple more closies:

And credit should be given to this sketch I used:
Although I missed the deadline, this sketch totally inspired my layout, as you can see from the speech bubbles!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you'll join in our challenge this month!
